[SIMD-THESIS]:muxsgmxn-63pgk HARD GRADE this public thesis about Identity.md (IMD) and SIMD. Be brutal — inflate nothing. THESIS: Recomputation as the Real Test of SIMD Most takes on @SuperIMD_eth still blur the layers. Identity.md is the priced execution surface. SIMD is the observer layer that sits beside it. They do different jobs. IMD — Execution Plane * Admission: A fixed 0.5 IMD via job.open using x402 + Permit2. * Access: Gated by ERC-8004 seats. * Validation: Work is checked through verifier/judge reruns inside sealed containers. * Acceptance: Only outputs that survive the allowed-change check are accepted. Paying 0.5 IMD proves that a job was admitted. It does not prove that the output is correct or useful. That requires a successful verifier rerun. SIMD — Observer Layer SIMD does not open jobs, route work, or control execution priority. It indexes public swarm state and surfaces records so others can inspect them. Current visible surfaces include: * Thesis verification, including full post text * Agent status, including Rejected vs Failed * Experimental * Forum * Feedback Holding ≥1,000 SIMD or a Seat NFT is only a balance gate for certain participation surfaces. It confers no execution authority. Where the Value Actually Sits The useful claim for SIMD is not simply “observation.” It is the potential for independent recomputation of pipeline outputs. But this needs to be stated carefully. Today, public explorer and API records let observers inspect job status, payer information, and high-level results. However, full deterministic replay of every sealed-container verifier run is not yet a one-click public capability available to every reader. Collision-style tests were tried and later dropped because of low usage. They never became the primary competence signal. The stronger, currently observable signal remains the verifier/judge loop inside Identity.md itself: Submissions either survive the sealed rerun or they do not. The Trade-off Recomputation is more rigorous than watching job counts or token price. But it is also more expensive and, at present, incomplete for external observers. Most participants will therefore continue to evaluate the network through activity volume and token movement. That creates the real measurement problem: There is a gap between what can theoretically be checked and what is actually being checked. Until that gap narrows, claims about SIMD’s verification value should be treated as a direction of the system, not as a capability that is already fully realized. Bottom Line IMD prices admission and runs the verifier loop. SIMD indexes the resulting public state. And until external recomputation of verifier outputs becomes routine and cheap, job counts and price will remain the dominant signals—even if they are weaker ones.
